Local Counsel

Sometimes a litigant requires a “local counsel,” a lawyer who is licensed or admitted to practice in a particular court, to aid their out-of-state attorney.

The duties of a local counsel may involve signing the papers filed in a particular legal matter, using the local court’s e-filing system, appearing in court, and advising the outside counsel concerning local civil procedures, rules and codes of ethics.

Isaac Post Law PLLC provides local counsel services to lawyers around the country who need to serve their clients’ interests in the courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the District of Columbia or in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (i.e. the “Rocket Docket.”)

With his extensive knowledge of the rules of civil procedure and of local civil practice, attorney Isaac Post can help outside counsel navigate the particularities of these courts’ rules and comply with their ethical duties.
